When the whole mouth needs a plan
Severe wear, multiple failing crowns, loose teeth, recurrent breakage or missing teeth can affect the way the jaws meet. The assessment looks at the cause, not only the visible damage. The dentist reviews tooth structure, gums, roots, jaw joints, muscles and medical history.
Preserve and restore where possible
A rehabilitation may combine tooth preservation, root canal treatment where indicated, crowns, bridges, implants and gum care. It does not automatically mean extracting every tooth or treating every tooth with a root canal. The prognosis and role of each tooth are explained before the sequence is chosen.
Bite height and the design of the teeth
The team considers the available restorative space, appearance, speech, jaw comfort and the bite. Changes in tooth height require careful assessment and clinical checks. Digital scans and laboratory design help record the plan, while the response in the mouth guides adjustments and review.
